Jocelyne Gregory is a Canadian author who lives on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. A graduate of Simon Fraser University, The Writer’s Studio, and a current UBC MFA creative writing student, she is known to spend more time world building than writing. Growing up with a love of paranormal, horror, romance, and speculative fiction, she will happily chat about topics ranging from interstellar ark ships, werewolves, the zombie apocalypse, and the dangers of lightsabers and space lasers.

She was the mentor-apprentice for the speculative fiction/young adult group with the SFU The Writer’s Studio program from September 2016-June2017.

In 2013 and 2014, she made it to the second round of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award competition for her first unpublished YA novel All the Dogs are Dancing. After working on it while attending The Writer’s Studio, an excerpt was published in Emerge 16 https://www.amazon.ca/emerge-16-Writers-Studio-Anthology-ebook/dp/B01MG027DA

Written under J.M. Goguen, All the Dogs are Dancing (2018) published by Ninestar Press can be found on Ninestar Press, Amazon (kindle and paperback) and other sites (yes the titles are the same but the story is substantively different).

In 2016, her flash fiction story “Clouds” was published by the National Flash Fiction Day New Zealand website on their Micro Madness page: https://nationalflash.org/micro-madness/

On October 13, 2016, a portion of play she co-wrote, alongside Roxanne Gregory, titled Unfortunately Our Last Slave Just Died from the Real Housewives of Ancient Britannia was performed at Comedy Quickies with The Whistler Writer’s Festival and won the Best Comedy Writing Award.

In the spring and autumn of 2018, she is a manuscript consultant with Simon Fraser University’s the Writer’s Studio and the Sechelt Public Library.

She likes to write in a variety of genres, ranging from science fiction, paranormal, and fantasy.

She is a bit nerdy, a little geeky, a gamer, and an occasional game designer.
